Answers, before you arrive

Questions are part of good care.

01Why see an endodontist?

Endodontists complete advanced specialty training focused on diagnosing tooth pain and treating the dental pulp and tissues around the roots. That focused training, combined with specialized imaging and magnification, is especially valuable in complex cases.

02Will a root canal hurt?

Our priority is profound anesthesia, a calm pace and clear communication. Most patients say treatment feels easier than they expected.

03How do I know if I need a root canal?

Lingering hot or cold sensitivity, pain with biting, swelling, a gum pimple, a crack or dental trauma can be warning signs. These symptoms do not always mean a root canal is necessary, so an accurate diagnosis comes first.

04Do I need a consultation first?

Some cases can be evaluated and treated in one visit when we receive the necessary records in advance. Complex diagnoses, retreatment and microsurgery may benefit from a dedicated consultation.

05Will I need a crown after treatment?

Many back teeth need a crown or other definitive restoration after root canal treatment, while some front teeth may be restored differently. We coordinate the restorative plan with your general dentist.

06How quickly can an emergency be seen?

We reserve space for urgent dental pain and work closely with referring offices to prioritize time-sensitive concerns.
